Reviewing and approving a change
When a change is ready, Site Star shows it to you before anything goes live. You can approve it right from your activity, or open it for the full details. Nothing changes on your site until you say so.
These three all reach the same Site Star agent, and it does the same thing whichever you pick. Use whatever's in reach.
- Site Star dashboardThe message box on My Site, once you're signed in.
- TextText your site's number from a phone it knows. Photos come through.
- EmailEmail your site's address. Attachments come through.
- Your own AI assistant Different setup, same result. Connect Claude or another assistant to your site once, then ask it from the chat you already use, and it acts on your site for you. Set it up
Find the change that's ready
When a change is ready, Site Star tells you on the channel you used to ask.
Ask Site Star
Or do it yourself in the Site Star dashboard
When a change is ready, it appears in your activity on My Site as an Update marked Ready for review. Everything you need to decide is right on that entry.
Preview it before you decide
Ask Site Star
Or do it yourself in the Site Star dashboard
Click Preview this update to see the change right there. You have a few ways to look:
- Open larger shows it in a bigger view.
- Open in new tab opens the full preview in its own tab.
- Reload refreshes it if you need to.
This is a preview of your site with the change applied. It is not live, and your current site is untouched. The preview opens on its own, with nothing to sign into.
Approve it
Ask Site Star
Or do it yourself in the Site Star dashboard
Happy with it? You have two ways to approve:
- Right from your activity: click Approve and publish.
- Want the full details first? Click Open update to open the change, look over its summary and status, then click Approve in the Your review panel.
Either way, approving applies the update to your site.
Or request changes
Ask Site Star
Or do it yourself in the Site Star dashboard
Want something different? Click Request changes. A note box opens asking "What should change?", tell Site Star what you'd like adjusted (a note is required so it gets it right), and send it.
The update goes back to Site Star and comes back revised for you to review again. You can go back and forth as many times as you need.
Watch it go live
Once you approve, you don't have to do anything else. The status carries the update the rest of the way:
- Approved — applying Site Star is applying your update.
- On its way live The update is being released.
- Live The change is live on your site.
If you sent it back instead, you'll see Being revised until it returns as ready for review again.
Your review history
Every decision is recorded on the change under Review history, so you can always see what was approved or sent back, and any notes you left.
Choose how changes go live
Whether changes wait for your review at all is up to you:
- Off (the default) — finished work is published for you, and you're told when it's live. You can still ask to review any specific change.
- On — finished work pauses on a staging preview and waits for your approval, the flow this guide describes, before anything publishes.
Off is "Site Star handles everything." On is "nothing goes live without me." Pick whichever matches how hands-on you want to be, and change it any time.
Ask Site Star Not supported yet
Site Star can't do this one for you yet. Check back soon; for now, the steps below do it in the Site Star dashboard.

The switch lives under Settings → Approvals, called Review changes before they go live.
