Microsoft Teams
If your team lives in Microsoft Teams, your website's visitor conversations can live there too. Each chat or text from a visitor opens a thread in a channel you choose, and replying in the thread answers the visitor. Nothing else about Site Star changes.
Teams needs live chat or visitor texting to be on. The card only appears once one of them is.
These three all reach the same Site Star agent, and it does the same thing whichever you pick. Use whatever's in reach.
- Site Star dashboardThe message box on My Site, once you're signed in.
- TextText your site's number from a phone it knows. Photos come through.
- EmailEmail your site's address. Attachments come through.
- Your own AI assistant Different setup, same result. Connect Claude or another assistant to your site once, then ask it from the chat you already use, and it acts on your site for you. Set it up
Connect a channel
Pairing is two steps: install the Site Star app in your Teams workspace, then paste a one-time code into the channel you want the conversations in. The code works once and expires after a few minutes; ask for a new one if it lapses. One channel per site.
Ask Site Star
Site Star replies with the pairing line to paste into your channel.
Or do it yourself in the Site Star dashboard
Open Settings → Chat on the Website tab and find the Microsoft Teams card. Click Connect Microsoft Teams, then:
- Install the Site Star app in your Microsoft Teams workspace.
- Open the channel you want your visitor conversations in.
- Type the line the card shows you into that channel (Copy copies it). The card flips to connected as soon as Teams accepts it.
What the channel receives
Every visitor conversation that starts after pairing opens a thread. The first post says who the visitor is, which channel they used (chat or text), and the page they were on, with Take over and Hand back to AI right there. Later messages arrive as replies in the thread, marked Visitor, AI, or the name of whoever on your side answered.
You choose which events post: new conversations, every message, handoff requests from the assistant, and take-over status changes.

Or do it yourself in the Site Star dashboard
On the connected Microsoft Teams card, tick the events under Send to this channel. Send a test message proves the channel is receiving.
Reply from Teams
Type in the thread and the visitor gets it, as the business, in their chat window or by text. Your first reply pauses the assistant on that conversation so you're not talking over it; Hand back to AI lets it resume. This is the same take-over as in your inbox, from a different seat.
When the assistant hands a visitor to your team, the thread gets a highlighted post with its reason and a summary. The usual email alert still goes out; Teams is in addition to it.
Disconnect
Disconnecting stops new posts to the channel. Existing threads stay in Teams; the conversations themselves stay in your inbox. Reconnect any time with a new code.
